Update regarding Business Banking Insight (BBI)

BBI was launched in 2013 by the Chancellor of the Exchequer

The programme was set up as a tool for improving competition in business banking by providing impartial information to business owners about the service and quality of various business banking providers.

The BBI programme was independent of any business banking provider, and was actively supported by HM Treasury. It was run by the British Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses with an advisory group consisting of HM Treasury, British Banker’s Association, Royal Bank of Scotland, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Leading independent research company Chime Insight undertakook the BBI research.

The website was shut down in 2019.

In 2022 new private owners bought the domain and are now running the website in order to provide independent information about business banking services. To be clear, the new website has no connection to the former website or the organisations who ran the former website/project.
